INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS

At Tara Natural Medicine, Guided by Chelsie Stelloh

The beginner’s Introduction to Mindfulness Class focuses on breath, stretching (beginner yoga postures), and meditation. The class teaches techniques that help one live in the present moment.

  • Benefits of Mindfulness:

  • reduces anxiety
  • improves sleep
  • improves mood
  • savor the pleasures of life as they occur

Harvard Medical School describes it as, “Mindfulness is the practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present moment—and accepting it without judgment. Mindfulness is now being examined scientifically and has been found to be a key element in happiness.”

Please welcome Chelsie!

Chelsie received her Bachelors of Applied Science in Psychology from University of Minnesota in 2007. By studying the mind and psyche, she began to deepen her own self awareness and spiritual growth, which led to a discovery of her sensitivity to other peoples’ energy. Chelsie wanted to learn more about the physical body, while still being able to help others. She found the perfect assimilation between physical health and service in her yoga practice, and completed a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Training in 2011. She provides meditation classes and guides several types of yoga: Ashtanga, Yin, Vinyasa, and Restorative. Her student’s skill level include beginners, other yoga instructors, and even family yoga. In November 2013 she led yoga and meditation classes for the men’s US Alpine Ski Team and more recent, mindfulness to Hillsdale High School students in San Mateo.

She is continuously inspired and humbled to be a witness to each of her student’s processes of growth, connection, and transformation. She believes that yoga and mindfulness are for everyone, regardless of age or physical limitation. Chelsie provides posture modifications based on each student’s needs.

Chelsie also provides Reiki (healing energy sessions) and is a distributor for therapeutic grade essential oils. She is excited to answer questions and looks forward to meeting you! Call her at (970-567-9122) to see if one of her services is right for you.
