I’m Dr. Vera Singleton, and I’m excited to be joining the Tara Natural Medicine community!   As a former professional and project manager, I get that life is hectic! Whether you are managing your kids, managing a team of 10, or running a multi-million dollar company the bottom line always matters most.

From my perspective the bottom line is this —  when you have optimal health your mind is sharper and more focused, you are more creative, and have the needed energy to accomplish your goals for the day.   When you are fatigued, constantly sick, depressed, unmotivated, and your hormones are on a roller coaster (with GI upset as the icing on the cake!) it makes your life more difficult to bear and distracts you from being your best self.

My focus in practice is providing the best medical care for you and your family.  I specialize in caring for children, men, and women of varying ages and can treat common concerns such as recurrent colds & flus to more complex  issues such as restoration of hormonal balance and assistance with infertility diagnoses.  In addition to seeing patients I also enjoy lecturing and running workshops, teaching the best of what naturopathic medicine has to offer!

I am a graduate of and assisted the Research Chair at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Arizona with cutting-edge research of Astragalus’  effect on genetic expression and immunity published in  The FASEB Journal.  My passion also led to my heavy involvement in advancing awareness and gaining legislative recognition for the naturopathic profession throughout Arizona and on the national level in Washington DC.
I am an active member of my community in Oakland, CA and consider myself an avid traveler and lifelong student of gastronomy and cultural history. I am professionally involved in the American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Resolve Infertility support, California Naturopathic Doctor’s Association, and the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.  In addition to SCNM I am also an alumni of the University of Michigan (B.S. in Biopsychology) and Wayne State University (Masters in Business Administration). I am looking forward to learning how to play golf and the cello.
